Twelve Books of Christmas - Summary/Wrap-Up

Summary/Wrap-Up

I completed my first reading challenge, with only a few hours left to spare! How's that for a close call? Given all the time I was focusing on reading, and not reviewing, guess what I'll be doing this weekend?

Without further ado, here are the twelve books I read for #12forxmas! And even though I said I would read certain books, things changed, and those I didn't read will be for my next two challenges, #rockmytbr and #sixsquaredchallenge, so look out for those soon.

1. Winter by Marissa Meyer

2. Fire Falling by Elise Kova

3. The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry

I finished so much in the first week, but then came finals week, and that took a lot of my time. Glad I read many of my favorite reads first!
4. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

5. Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith

These two contemporaries were alright, although I did prefer We Were Liars (for the suspense), and Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between came off as too dramatic and too cliched.

6. Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray

I actually want to do a dual-review for Ten Thousand Skies Above You and A Thousand Pieces of You. I loved both books, but I loved the sequel more, and I can't wait for the final book!

7. This Raging Light by Estelle Laure

8. Apprentice by Rachel E. Carter

This arrogant prince had me in knots! Ryiah was going back and forth between him and Ian... all this romance, but Carter balanced it with lots of plot development.
9. Jackaby by William Ritter

10. Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn

11. Cherry Blossom Baseball by Jennifer Maruno

12. Li Jun and the Iron Road by Anne Tait, Paulette Bourgeois
Unfortunately, my last few reads, with the exception of Firsts, weren't all that great. Cherry Blossom Baseball was missing a lot of lines, and felt very incomplete without them. Li Jun and the Iron Road was a rushed story to me, as well. And Jackaby... I guess since I haven't been into Sherlock and Watson and all that, the mystery solving was lost on me, but the story and characters seemed dry. I'm not sure if I'll be continuing the series, but these were the books I ended my 2015 with! Here's to better books and more reading to us all.
