The Twelve Books of Christmas Progress - Week 1

Week 1 Progress

(Or rather, week 1 and a half of progress because I didn't have time to blog until now)
So on my #12forXmas journey to finish twelve books in an effort to clean up my TBR list, I can say it went nicely. Despite finals and other college related things in the way. I managed to finish three books! And they were all amazing, and one review is coming soon, so here's my progress.

Completed
1. Winter by Marissa Meyer
The second series I finished this year (the first being The Seven Realms), and I'm rather sad it's over. Although I still have to read Fairest and The Stars Above... Anyways, this was my first read of December, and isn't it fitting? Now if only there was actual winter weather coming my way. Marissa Meyer outdid herself with this, and after reading, I must say, Winter is my favorite princess, and her and Jacin are perfect together. I fangirled all of this to Yiling, and I'm happy it ended the way it did. All stories do end with a happily ever after!

2. Fire Falling by Elise Kova
I came home last weekend to this beauty, and I can say, I wasn't disappointed. This was last weekend's read, and Elise Kova knows how to shatter my heart. If I say anymore I might spoil it. I will be reviewing this at a (hopefully) soonish time (curse you busyness!), but finishing Fire Falling only makes me anticipate Earth's End even more.

3. The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry
I'm actually reviewing this for Nori's SST. Thank you Nori for this opportunity, and thank you Emily Henry for this epic time travel romance. So I don't want to say too much, but I absolutely loved this book. I'm a sucker for time travel with romance and alternate/parallel dimensions, and TLTSTW tickled all of these fantasies. It's so deep and meaningful, and all the stories being told are connected to the plot. And that revelation/ending was something I did not expect at all. I read The Time Traveler's Wife. I watched Stein's Gate. You'd think all of these time traveler stories would have the similar endings, but they don't. And they continue to surprise me, which makes me love time traveling so much. (This book will also end up on a time travel book post, at some point!)

In Progress

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
I can't say too much about this, given I just read the first few pages today. Gatwick Matthew Patil is one heck of a name, though.

Next To Read

Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray

Happy holidays everyone! How are everyone else's Twelve Days challenges going? Or your other TBR challenges, for that matter? Are finals and holiday shopping getting in the way of reading? My friends and family always wonder how I can finish books so quickly, and how I'm even able to read at all during this time. But I hope everyone's challenges are going well.

Hopefully I'll finish more next week!

  1. Yay! This is some great progress, and I love that you're trying to tidy up your TBR. I'm hoping to finish up Book 3 today, and I'm about 30% of the way through an audiobook (#4).
